If you are unable to attend one of our live in-person training classes due to limited class times or travel issues, Babysitter Boot Camp’s online learning can be accessed anywhere at any time.

The Babysitter Boot Camp® workshop is designed to get your child ready for the exciting responsibilities of being a superstar babysitter!

If your child wants to earn their own money, learn the basics of business, gain respect and begin building a reputation for being professional and responsible, then enroll them in the Babysitter Boot Camp® workshop and get them started in their first business!Designed for Boys and Girls ages 10 -17, the Babysitter Boot Camp® workshop provides soon-to-be-babysitters and Mother Helpers with everything they need to be a confident, safe and effective babysitter.

Participants learn an outline to interviewing the parent to review house rules including bedtimes, snacks, homework, friends, TV, games plus an array of expectations.

In additions to safety issues and deal with fussy children, new babysitters will become comfortable in dealing with basic CPR/AED, First Aid; nose bleeds, sprains, cuts, bees stings, burns and keeping children safe during an emergency.

Giving your child the proper tools to be successful in their first business venture will follow them throughout their lifetime. Learning about responsibility, accountability, etiquette, time management, and emergency management will get them started on the right foot. What Will You Learn in This Course

This Home Alone Boot Camp® course will help you:

  • Gain confidence in yourself
  • Understand your responsibilities when you are home alone
  • Stay safe while your parents are at work or away from home for short periods of time
  • Establish routines before and after school to be safe and have fun
  • Know how to deal with fear and have a process in place for dealing with incidents
  • Know how to keep yourself safe during power outages and storms
  • Know how to handle emergencies and prevent accidents
  • Administer first aid to yourself or siblings if needed

 

Staying Busy After School If your parents are not at home when you arrive from school, lock the door behind you as soon as you get in the house. After school routines will help keep you entertained and safe while your parents are away.

Visitors and Strangers

On your way home from school, do not talk to strangers.
Do not tell anyone you are going home to be by yourself.

Basic First Aid and Safety Strategies

Accidents can happen anywhere at anytime. It’s important that you know how to treat minor injuries yourself.
It’s important that you recognize when to call your parents or 911.
Prepare or purchase a first aid kit before you stay home alone.

Make sure it has:

  • Band-aids
  • Gauze and tape
  • Tweezers
  • Antibiotic ointment
  • Soap or hand sanitizer
  • First aid manual

When should you call 911?

  • When you feel threatened
  • During an emergency or fire
  • if you get hurt
  • If someone is trying to get in the house
  • If you or your sibling is having trouble breathing
  • If your parents don’t come home and you can’t reach them
